Congrats on purchasing your fine grain Lantis Italian leather watch strap.  Here are five important considerations you can take to look after of your Lantis leather watch strap, so you can enjoy it for many years to come..

1. Storage

Avoid leaving your watch strap in the sun as it can cause the leather to dry up and after long exposure to sunlight it can crack and deteriorate.  Store your leather watch strap in a cool and dry environment that is not exposed to the radiance of the sun.

2. Chemicals

If you work with chemicals, like dish washing liquid and other cleaning detergents.  Best to take your watch off and put it to one side to reduce the risk of harsh and abrasive chemicals from damaging the leather and the natural colour.  Chemicals and the natural oils in leather typically dont play well with each other.

3. Leather care

Use a good natural leather care cream and apply the cream to the leather according to the instructions of your leather care cream product and this will ensure that your leather strap will stay supple and the colours will stay saturated and will prevent cracks that can occur if the leather dries out.

4. Cleaning

Cleaning leather should also be done using a good quality leather cream.  Typically, most nourishing leather creams also act as a good cleaning agent to care for your leather strap.  Otherwise, a lathered soap and warm water can be effective in cleaning the leather.  Be sure to rinse off excess soap and once dried,  reapply the nourishing leather cream.

5. Metal parts

The metal on the watch strap will develop a build up of bacteria, dust and skin oils, which looks unsightly.  Use a tooth pick to scrape out any excess from the articulating parts and a cotton bud with a good cleaning agent.  This will ensure that the articulating points remain free from grime and dust and will prevent rust from deteriorating the metal parts.
